Anyone played the new Wolfenstein yet? Everyone gave it so much negative sh!t it was horrible. Even amidst all the bad press, all I heard was "Blah Blah Blah if you're a long time fan get this blah blah blah". Call it ignorance, for that's what it was. So I bought it and the only thing that is to complain about, is the slightly dated engine it uses. Yeah it's showing it's age but that's what's awesome. id games always have that 'feel' and this one is no different. Even if I wasn't a huge fan of the Wolfenstein series, it's not that bad. It's control scheme is pretty much just like the CoD series, so you can't complain about those. The online is a little shallow in the begininning, but gets better. The graphics really arn't that bad. It may not be a huge technical splendour, but it's not bad at all. The story is interesting, pretty much like all the others in the series. Kick ass, and somewhat humerous dialogue. I dunno, if I had to complain it would be the lack of more weaponry in online deathmatch, and maybe another class or 2. But I have my favourites already laid out so I dont need it Anyways yeah. Just ranting.
I think it's one of the better fps games I've played in awhile. I've not found anything to complain about in the graphics dept., looks great and the framerate is smooth and consistent. Great atmosphere, long levels, non-linear structure. Definitely not the 'short crappy game' that I'd read about. I must have clocked 7+ hrs already and I think I'm barely at the 1/2 way mark. If you're a Wolfenstein fan, it stands up on it's own. As for the multiplayer, yeah they skimped, but I really got it for the single player so no complaints here. On another note, Wolfenstein RPG is excellent, one of the funnest games I've played in awhile. Will definitely grab Doom RPG when it comes out.
Yeah I agree. I dunno I just felt like the game got totally ripped off by bad press about it. Everyone expected it to be a freaking CoD killer or something I don't know what people were expecting, but it met my expectations. I was just wondering what everyone else thought. And yeah I got it mainly for the Story too, but I did always love the MP on the PC "Return to Castle Wolfenstein". And yeah the levels are fairly huge. And hell yeah, I've been hooked on Wolfenstein RPG. That game is freakin amazing hahaha Doom RPG will be sick im sure.
