World of Goo [Releasing 14th of April]

So if we have an iPhone 4 and we want retina, we have to buy the hd version? Sorry I'm really confused on which I should buy. I don't own an iPad. Help

 

If you read this thread, you'll see the new (non-HD) version was supposed to have retina support already but apparently does not. The developer says this will be fixed in an update.

 

well this is confusing as ron carmel him self who is a dev at 2d boy the game is supposed to be retina on the ipt4 and ip4 period. royce beat me to it! and all hd and non hd means is HD is IPAD, so this should have nothing to do with it.

 

When did the game come out for everybody else? Was it 11 pm or some other time?

 

So if I want the Retina on iPhone 4 right now, I should buy HD version?

 

For the love of... it's been stated about 6 or so times already, both versions support retina. If you're playing and it doesn't appear in retina at the moment, that's a bug and will be fixed. Can a mod just edit the original post with this info? Twelve pages of useless posts already.

 

Yes, I've seen many posters say it should have Retina. I've seen nothing from the developer to indicate that the graphics will be upscaled further. They haven't confirmed that the screenshots posted in this threads are actually of lower resolution than intended, just encouraged people to send them screenshots if WE believe there is something wrong.

Since some, both developers and iOS journalists, use "Retina" in a relative sense, there's no guarantee the devs intended for the graphics of the iPhone version to be more high-rez than their current state.

 

Also on their website they posted it will have retina.

 

I am gonna buy this game tonight but might wait til update to play it, dont want to waste it on not retina!

 

so you play the game it gets a update and retina is enabled? why wouldnt you want to play it, for the love of god both versions are retina enabled there is a bug its being fixed...you get half way through it the update goes down you play the rest in retina.

Back on topic: if there is anyone out there still on some kind of rickety fence, take the plunge. World of Goo on the iPhone plays wonderfully. For .99 cents, it might just be one of the best values in the App Store.

 

This whole HD and non-HD thing just confuses customers. They should never even bother releasing a seperate app they should have only made the HD app universal and left it at that.

Oh well still going to buy it when the non-HD version comes out as I do t have an iPad and for the $0.99 sale.

world of goo hd - is the universal ipad version (HD IS IPAD)

world of goo - is for ipods and iphones

BOTH versions are supposed to be retina enabled they are borked at the moment but will be fixed.

so if you buy world of goo or hd which is pointless unless you have an ipad both have retina. they just made them separate apps.
