Today i went through many TA articles just trying to find those who were upset with how long apps and app updates were taking to be approved. I found countless posts. It has come to my attention that some apps don't get approved because some of the devices Apple uses are faulty or not set up the right way for an app to run. Case in point, this gentlemen. "I uploaded a binary and today I got an update saying it was rejected because it crashes in Airplane mode. I tried it on 4 iphones, and it never crashed in airplane mode. I tried it again today - no problems. I reuploaded the binary thinkning I may have uplaoded an old version. Anyways, Apple sent me a VIDEO of them testing my app. It turns out the iPod Touch they were testing on has its language set to something other that English (French, I think). It is pretty cool to see them actually testing it ghost is offline..." With this being said maybe when apps are submitted to the appstore they don't just stay in America. Could it be that the files are directed elsewhere in the world? That being said could one app be accepted by one person but an update of that app reviewed by another? As an example I recently have been reading the Minigore thread, and im not sure but, Lets say John Smith (not really person but just pretend for this scenario) is an app reviewer for apple and lives in California. He was the one that gave the passing grade to Minigore to be allowed into the appstore. Now the Minigore team has submitted an update. John Smith, chances are, will not get to work on approving the update. It could go to Miny gore (another app reviewer) who happens to live in France and he or she may have a different technique to studying and approving apps. One may be more thorough than the other, but the list of differences of App reviewing techniques among John and Miny could be countless. Basically im trying to get people thinking a little bit. To not necessarily blame Apple but just think about all the people that approve apps and how many people may have a say in the situation of an app. I would love to here your guys thoughts on how you think the appstore allows apps to be approved. BUT PLEASE NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS!!!!! P.S. here is a video from a dev of the aforementioned device problem and apple reviewing his app, and the forum he discusses it on. http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/5094-apples-approval-process.html
